Local pupils get active in another fantastic sporting competition for schools in the Borough

St Edward’s pupils shone in the latest Langdon Academy Sport Partnership event as they won the KS1 Year One Sportshall Athletics Competition on Wednesday.

A total of five schools took part in girls and boys track and field events to determine who was the winner.

Altmore finished fifth with 258 points just being beaten to fourth by St Joachim’s who earned 260 points.

St Joachim’s picked up 120 points thanks to their girls and 140 came because of the boys while Altmore’s girls claimed 134 points and the boys 124.

Essex were third with a solid showing in both categories with the girls earning 140 points and the boys 134.

St Helen’s finished as runners-up after the girls won 146 points while the boys claimed 142.

And it was St Edward’s that triumphed above everybody else with the girls earning 160 points and the boys bringing home 162.

It was another successful Langdon Academy Sport Partnership event where achievement is paramount.

Pupils of today can be leaders of tomorrow and it was another fun competition for the school children taking part.
