Women impress at recent events

East End Road Runners have enjoyed some excellent results in recent weeks.

The women’s team finished third in the penultimate race of the East London Five Interclub Series (ELVIS) and will be looking to hold onto their position at the final race later this month.

And more female members were out in action at the weekend, with Sandy Fitzgerald completing her third marathon in Dingle in four and a half hours.

Hot on her heels on Sunday, Emma Baldwin completed the Kent Coastal Marathon in a 46-minute personal best time of 4:25.

And veteran runner Catherine Apps came first in her age group in the Richmond Half Marathon, setting an unbelievable sub-two hour time.

Anyone wanting to take part in one of London’s friendliest running series or just train with the East End Road Runners are invited along to Newham Leisure Centre track on Tuesdays at 7pm.
