Viewtube Runers were among the award winners once again at the recent 24-hour Spitfire Scramble relay event at Hornchurch Country Park.

Despite only sending two teams to this year’s race, the Newham club maintained a proud five-year tradition of coming away with a podium.

On a very hot day, their reward this time around was a third-place finish in the mixed 3-5 team category, while a women’s team managed to finish ninth in their group.

Coach Paul Lewis paced ultra-running debutant Sayeed Asad Haq to a distance of 100k in the solo event.

Viewtube Runners continue to offer half and marathon training for all abilities on Sunday mornings and Couch to 5k training on Tuesday evenings.

They also train for 5k and 10k runs on Thursday evenings and anyone wanting further information about the club can visit their website
