Year five and six pupils from Aldersbrook came out on top in a key stage two mixed table-tennis competition staged by the Langdon Academy Sport Partnership this week.

They beat St Michael’s and St Edward’s twice in their group and then saw off St Helen’s in the semi-finals, all by 8-0 margins.

Meanwhile, St Joachim’s edged past Avenue (4-3) in their group, before defeating St Helen’s, Langdon and, in the semi-finals, St Michael’s, by 7-1 scorelines to reach the decider.

Aldersbrook maintained their winning run in the final, though, with a 5-3 victory to claim the silverware and leave St Joachim’s with the runners-up medals, as St Helen’s beat St Michael’s (6-2) in the third-place play-off.
