Newham All Star Sports Academy (NASSA) under-16 boys have progressed to the quarter-finals of the National Cup after a well-earned win against London Pioneers.

It was an eight-point game for the majority of the opening two quarters, but NASSA began to establish a bigger lead and kept the pressure on their opponents right up until the final whistle to take the game 55-40.

It wasn’t their only success of the weekend as they also won their league game against Hertfordshire Warriors.

NASSA led by 12 at the end of the first quarter and extended to 20 by the end of the second.

They maintained the pressure on the Warriors throughout the match and good post work from Michael Ebose and strong defence from Joe Mvezolo helped them to a 90-51 win.

NASSA’s under-15 boys team hit treble figures in their comfortable win away at Haringey Hawks.

The led from the outset, and had a 17-point lead by the end of the second quarter.

They continued to dominate throughout and went on to win 106-81.

The winning streak continued with the under-18 boys as they picked up a victory over PAWS London Capital.

The result was never in doubt from the off, and they spent the second half of the game refining their skills with good play from Alex Semanda, Roan Ienihan and Hisham Sempala putting them on course for a 91-38 triumph.
