The Copper Box Arena has been nominated for two awards at this year’s Conference & Events awards evening.

Managed by GLL, a charitable social enterprise and worker-owned cooperative operating under the community-brand Better, it has been shortlisted for 'Most Versatile Venue over 1,200 capacity' and ‘Best Venue over 1,000 capacity’.

Boasting a maximum seating capacity of 7,500, the Copper Box Arena stands as the third-largest arena in London, renowned for its ability to host a diverse range of top-tier sports, esports, cultural, and entertainment events.

Fondly dubbed the ‘Box that Rocks’, it has established itself as the UK’s home of esports, while also serving as the home ground for esteemed sports teams including the London Lions basketball teams and London Pulse netball team.

The Copper Box Arena has played host to prestigious esports tournaments such as Apex Legends ALGS, League of Legends MSI 2023, Clash Royale, Call of Duty, and Rocket League events, drawing in audiences from across the globe.

It has also held top international events, conference and product launches, including the Billie Jean King Cup, boxers such as Joe Joyce, and a Fiat 500 car launch.

The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on Friday, July 5 at City Central at the HAC in London.

Daniel Le Grange, Head of National Events at GLL, said: “We’re pleased that Copper Box Arena is being recognised for its versatility and huge offering. It is fitting we’re kicking off our new 10-year partnership with the London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) by being put forward for these awards.

“GLL takes pride in its expansive national events portfolio featuring renowned venues such as Lee Valley VeloPark, Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre, Crystal Palace National Sports Centre and many others.”
