Young patients enjoyed an early Christmas sparkle, sing-song and a few laughs at Newham Hospital.

Starlight Children’s Foundation’s pantomime, a charity who grants once-in-a-lifetime wishes for seriously and terminally ill children, got the children laughing, cheering and singing as the four actors performed a pantomime at the hospital in Glen Road, Plaistow last week.

The show popped into the hospital, as part of its eight-week tour that will see it visit children’s wards throughout the country.

Hamera Elahi, play worker on the rainbow ward at Newham Hospital, run by Barts Health NHS Trust said:“We were lucky to have Starlight’s Christmas pantomime visit last week, all the children got out of their beds, had a lot of fun and enjoyed the show very much.

“Parents and staff also watched and it made everyone on the ward happy.”
