World-class athletes of a very different kind took over the Copper Box Arena this weekend.
Professional gamers competed in Gfinity, the country’s largest eSports tournament which took place at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, without even getting up from their seats.
Elite international teams battled it out across a number of titles including first-person shooter Call of Duty: Ghosts and for the first time in the tournament’s shot history football sim FIFA 2014.
Winners came from France, Denmark and the USA with teams earning up to $30,000. The total prize pot for the weekend came to a staggering $140,000.
