A 71-year-old woman was left with serious leg injuries following a collision in Stratford.

Now police officers are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which took place at the crossing in Great Eastern Road, outside the Stratford Centre, at around 2.20pm on Monday, April 4.

The woman, a pedestrian, was taken to hospital where she remains in a stable condition.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene.

Det Sgt Julie Trodden, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We know a number of other pedestrians were using the crossing at the time of the collision.

“I would appeal to those people to come forward and tell us what happened.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives at the serious collision investigation unit on 020 8597 4874.

There have been no arrests and enquiries continue.
