Reporter Jacob Ranson took to the streets this week to ask the community what they love about Newham. Here’s what they said...
Aureen Deesawala, 64, Market Street, East Ham: “I like how good the bus service is. The fact the shops have changed so much is my only negative, but there are a lot of people moving to the area, which is good. The park is also great and they always have really good entertainment.”
Elvin Myers, 48, Ramsey Road, Stratford: “There is new energy, new buildings, and more people visiting the area, which makes it busier. There are more businesses and more employment coming to the area and I think it has changed for the better. I have lived here for 40 years and this is the best Stratford has been.”
Saquaib Muhammad, 32, Gresham Road, East Ham: “I like the area because I’ve got the park right by my house and there is a good mixture of food. Also, the shops are open until late now, so it’s really good for the people to buy whatever they need and whenever they need.”
