Forward hurt hamstring in win over Southampton last Saturday
West Ham United make the trip to Chelsea in the Premier League this Sunday, but will do so without Michail Antonio.
The winger went off injured nine minutes into Saturday’s 3-0 win at home to Southampton with a hamstring problem.
In a campaign ravaged by injuries, the 28-year-old has managed 21 appearances, scoring three goals.
However, Antonio will play no further part in the Hammers’ bid to remain in the Premier League.
There is better news for boss David Moyes, though, when it comes to playmaker Manuel Lanzini.
The creative Argentina international missed the victory over the Saints because of a knee injury picked up while with his country.
However, the 25-year-old is recovering well and could be fit to face the Blues at Stamford Bridge this weekend.
Should Lanzini feature, he will likely play in a team that also contains Arthur Masuaku, who made his first appearance since January when starting against Southampton.
The defender-cum-winger had not played since the FA Cup loss at Wigan Athletic after being handed a six-game ban for spitting in the game.
On his return to action against the Saints, Masuaku provided a delightful ball for Marko Arnautovic to score the third and final goal.
Moyes will hope Masuaku proves to be a threat again should be feature against Chelsea and praised his contribution against Southampton.
“We have missed the natural balance he brings, whether you see him as a left-back, a left wing-back or a left winger, he’s a little bit of all of them at different times in the game for us,” Moyes told the club website.
“In a way, I think he has benefited from his time off, because we’ve used that time to practice his finishing, his crossing and he’s positionally a little bit better.
“The cross he put in for Marko was terrific, so from that point of view, although it was six games it felt like six months we were missing him!”
West Ham will bid to do the double over Antonio Conte’s Chelsea this weekend, having beaten them in December.
But with no win in the league at Stamford Bridge since September 2002, history is against the Hammers.
