Green fingered residents can enjoy an afternoon planting food at West Ham Park tomorrow.
The event is led by staff at the City of London park and will take place at the Jubilee Food Growing Garden. It is open to young and old although children will need to be accompanied by an adult.
Tools will be provided and you can drop in between 3.30pm and 4.30pm.
Sue Banks, support officer at the park, which is in Upton Lane, Forest Gate, said: “We had about 30 people attend this particular event last year, a mix of adults with their children. We also have a gardening club made up of adult volunteers who tend to the garden throughout the growing season May to October.
“Anyone can drop in between 3.30pm to 4.30pm on Thursday 8 May 2014, and help plant a range of vegetables- cauliflowers, cabbages, potatoes, beans, courgettes and salad which starts off our food growing area for this year.”
