Twenty-five West End workers swapped their office desks for a paint bucket and brush to help spruce up Newham City Farm.
The staff from Capita Symonds stained farm furniture and buildings, put up signs, laid a new path, upgraded the children’s area, and set up a butterfly house at the farm in Stansfeld Road, Beckton.
Community Links, which run the farm which is home to over 200 animals is one of Capita Symonds chosen charity partners.
Founder of Community Links, Kevin Jenkins, said: “I thought the day was brilliant —a tremendous atmosphere and everyone gave so much. The amount of work completed was tremendous.”
Capita Symonds is a multidisciplinary consultancy operating in building design, civil engineering, environment, management and transport sectors. The volunteers came from their Shaftesbury Avenue office.
