Two days of polling begins in election of a new Young Mayor of Newham.

There are 15 candidates and anyone aged 11 to 17 that lives, works or studies in the borough is eligible to cast a vote on the paper ballot.

There are also online video manifestos to view with the two day election starting today.

Voting is at polling stations at schools, colleges and ConneXions centres.

Current Young Mayor Kaycee de Belen said: “Young people here are lucky that they get to elect their own representative, and have a spokesperson of a similar age who knows what it’s really like to be a young person in Newham

“I urge anyone who’s eligible to get out and vote….your vote counts!”
