With less than a fortnight to go before the big day, donations are mounting for the appeal.

This week it was the turn of Clapton FC and Vinci Facilities, who kindly gave 50 toys and £600 between them.

Vinci’s head of business and community investment, Josephine O’Connor, and Karen Heather, played Santa’s elves and dropped off their 50 toys to the appeal’s coordinator, Kevin Jenkins. Among the gifts were board games, toy cars and some remarkable unicorn hobby horses.

Meanwhile, Forest Gate’s Clapton FC added their contribution to the pile. Their £600 was made up of £311.49 which was collected during their match against Eastfield, a £30 donation from match day caterers Fusion Foods, and a £258.51 donation from the Clapton match day committee, from the game’s gate receipts.

Kevin Jenkins said: “This was a brilliant and wonderful donation from the Newham community football club.”
