While thousands of revellers were enjoying the entertainment inside Central Park yesterday, a carnival procession took the Mayor’s Newham Show out onto East Ham’s streets.
Hundreds of children, young people and community groups took to the streets to showcase a diverse range of music and dancing as the party atmosphere engulfed the surrounding area.
Starting from the park’s southern entrance on Rancliffe Road, the parade travelled up High Streets South and North, before heading back into the park down Ron Leighton Way and Bartle Avenue.
One of the largest free events of its kind in the UK, the show concludes today with a range of entertainment including a traditional British beach and the Great Newham Bake Off.
