Hundreds gathered to celebrate the beginning of the festive season, as British music star, Arjun, the Mayor of Newham Sir Robin Wales and MP Lyn Brown, switched the lights on at the Green Street, Upton Park shopping centre yesterday.

While, the singer-songwriter, also gave an exclusive performance of some of his biggest hits and even serenaded one lucky fan on the stage infront of the mass crowds.

“Thanks to East Shopping Centre for inviting me to switch on their Christmas lights and perform - what an amazing crowd!

“It was a pleasure to switch on the Christmas lights and meet the local fans. I hope to be back again soon.” Arjun said.

The event also marked the beginning of the East Winter Sale, which is offering unbeatable offers and discounts of up to 75% off in select shops and the launch of East’s newest restaurant, American diner Route 58.
