People from all over the borough will be celebrating the royal wedding with street parties tomorrow.

Around 80 are taking place at various locations, meaning some roads will be closed or partially closed to vehicles and cyclists all day.

Pedestrian access is not affected.

Mayor of Newham Sir Robin Wales said: “I am delighted so many residents have taken the time and effort to organise parties. The council joins them in offering congratulations to Prince William and Catherine Middleton and hope that have a long and happy life together.

“We have tried to make it as easy as possible for people to hold royal wedding parties with support from us through small amounts of funding, free bunting and help to close roads.

“People of all ages and cultures will be getting together and having fun. It’s a great way to show how we’ll be celebrating when the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games come to town next year.”
