Budding fashion designers and UEL students are celebrating creating 12 costumes for a film.

University of East London fashion students, who designed the avant-garde style costumes for Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie, will mark their achievements with an special exhibition at the Docklands campus.

The costumes, which were made of materials including red boiled wool, foam and pleather have been returned to the university and will go up on permanent display.

The film, which reprises the characters from the 1990s sitcom, sees Patsy and Edina try to navigate London Fashion Week.

The students costume designs make it into many of the important scenes, including the fashion party.

The costume exhibition is yet to have a confirmed date, but will be open to the public and conducted in conjunction with screenings of the film.
