A woman was rescued from a first floor flat early this morning after a kitchen fire in Manor Park.
Fire crews from three stations were called to Gainsborough Avenue at 4.23am after flames broke out in the three-roomed property.
London Ambulance Service rushed two women to hospital for smoke inhalation, one of whom was rescued from the first floor landing by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus.
The other escaped the property before crews arrived, according to London Fire Brigade.
About 40 minutes later, 21 firefighters accompanied by four fire engines managed to control the flames, which damaged part of the flat.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
