East London travellers suffer worse that rest of London

A FOURTH Tube strike today has hit East London commuters hardest with no services on the Central Line into the West End.

Services are running on ten of London’s eleven Tube lines this morning, despite the 24-hour walkout called by the leaderships of the RMT and TSSA unions and eight out of ten stations are currently open.

Lines currently operating ain full are the

Northern, Waterloo & City, Victoria and Metropolitan.

The Jubilee line is running between Stratford and Wembley Park while the District service is operating between Upminster and Ealing Broadway / Wimbledon and the Hammersmith & City line is operating between Hammersmith and Moorgate.

Services may vary throughout the day depending on resources available, warn Transport for London who are urging passengers to check before they travel to see how Tube services are operating and which alternative services are available via www.tfl.gov.uk.

There are good services on the bus network, Docklands Light Railway, and London Overground. Extra buses have been provided and marshalled taxi ranks. Volunteers are on hand at bus, Tube, and rail stations to help passengers and distribute walking maps and other useful information.
