Tube travellers are experiencing long delays with TfL running 40 per cent of services.

COMMUTERS are suffering more misery this morning as a strike by tube unions causes chaos on the underground.

Transport for London (TfL) said that 40 per cent of services and 70 per cent of stations are in operation.

Newham travellers are being hit by long delays with a reduced service on the Central Line.

The Jubilee line is operating a service between Stratford and Wembley Park.

On the District line, trains are running between Upminster and Ealing Broadway and Wimbledon.

The Hammersmith & City line has trains between Hammersmith and Edgware Road.

Travellers are advised to seek alternative routes on the DLR, London Overground and bus networks where good services are running.

In an ironic twist, the travel chaos comes as London Assembly members are today debating how the capital’s transport network will cope during London 2012.
