Thousands of triathletes ran, swam and cycled their way around the Royal Docks on the weekend.
The AJ Bell London Triathlon saw some 13,000 people take on the three disciplines over a variety of distances.
Among the famous faces taking on Saturday’s challenge was television presenter Charlie Webster.
She said: “It’s been so amazing to be here again because this was my first ever triathlon, last time I was here I had only just learnt to swim so it’s been great to be back and take on the course for the second time.
“The atmosphere and support was incredible and really helped spur me on, I would really recommend it to anyone wanting to take on a triathlon for the first time!”
Three former Paralympians also took on the triathlon for Panathlon, raising money for the charity that provides sporting opportunities to disabled youngsters.
Swimmer Liz Johnson, wheelchair rugby captain Steve Brown and runner Danny Crates teamed up to complete a leg each in the team relay.
Liz, who also took part in last year’s event, said: “It brings a new swimming challenge for me and I really enjoyed the cut and thrust of swimming amongst so many bodies and overtaking people this year.”
Also taking part was IT consultant Elliot Dickson, 28, from Denmark Hill. He said: “I left the triathlon exhausted and in quite some pain but feeling very happy with my efforts.”
Sunday saw the elite athletes compete over an Olympic distance in a bid to be crowned champion.
Double world champion Helen Jenkins won the women’s race in 1hr 56mins 32secs, with Australian Peter Kerr seeing off the male field in a time of 1hr 48mins 27secs.
