Archant

Shop staff have done their bit for the Toy Appeal with a literal supermarket sweep of gifts.

Gallions Reach Tesco Extra in Armada Way, Beckton, generously donated a bulging shopping trolley heaped high with must-have presents from their toy aisles.

Lead manager Lloyd Warn, pictured on the far right, said: “We’re proud to be supporting the Toy Appeal again this year and hope that our donation will make a difference to families this Christmas.”

The branch certainly has a history of doing good.

Earlier this year, the superstore urged charities in Newham to join up to their Community Food Connection programme, which gives away unsold food, and in 2014, the branch raised more money for charity than any other Tesco store in London.
