Newham Council has signed a 4m contract with property firm Apollo to refurbish two tower blocks.
Priory Court, in Upton Park and Paul Street in Stratford, will receive a facelift later this year.
The projects, which will run for 40 and 44 weeks respectively, include flat roof and soil stack replacements.
Communal areas at both blocks will also be redecorated and the lateral mains power supplies will be replaced.
Adam Stevens, from Apollo, said: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to extend our ongoing relationship with Newham by securing these contracts.”
