News to cheer holidaymakers-British Airways is now flying to Venice from London City Airport.

The six times a week service to the city of canals is the sixth new destination this year for British Airways from London City where the airline is now officially the largest operator with the highest number of routes and customers.

The year-round service adds to the leisure portfolio from the Docklands airport where this year British Airways will also be operating to Palma, Ibiza and Malaga during the winter for the first time.

As the airline continues to grow its network from London City, customers have more choice to more leisure destinations, flying on one of the youngest aircraft fleets in the business. A total of 23 destinations in the UK, Europe and the USA are served by British Airways from the airport.

Luke Hayhoe, general manager commercial for British Airways at London City, said: “We are very excited about the launch of the new Venice service, a popular winter and summer route. This is what our customers have been asking for, year-round short break destinations that are only a couple of hours flying time from the centre of London.”
