Newham’s 50th anniversary was celebrated with not one but three street parties this weekend.
Around 3,400 people joined in the fun in Stratford on Saturday and in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on Sunday.
Entertainment included a film showcase, fitness activities and an open mic competition.
Visitors were also encouraged to share their favourite memory of the borough to create a special trail.
There was a throwback to the swinging 60s at the Jack Cornwell Community Centre on Saturday as around 200 people enjoyed music, singing and a high tea.
Cllr Ken Clark, cabinet member for building communities, public affairs, regeneration and planning, said: “There has been an amazing response to the parties we have held to mark Newham’s 50th anniversary and these latest events were no exception.
“Everyone who attended one of the parties had a fantastic time.”
Another anniversary garden party is set to be held on Saturday, September 5 in Forest Lane Park from 12pm.
