IT WAS a case of an oink, oink here and an oink, oink there when panto pigs met the real thing down on the farm.

Woody (Darren Hart), Bricks (Stephen Lloyd) and Straw (Gemma Salter), who play the three little pigs in Red Riding Hood at the Theatre Royal Stratford East, visited Newham City Farm, hoping to get some pointers on how to oink the loudest .

Farm manager Theresa Salmon said: “It was great to have cast members greet the kids and meet our naughty little pigs… to be honest I think they taught them a thing or two about how to be a real pig! It’s nice to know that we’ll have some part to play in the theatre’s panto.”

The actors also met children from East London Independent School – just around the corner from the theatre – who were on a weekly visit to the farm in Stansfeld Road, Beckton. The panto runs from Saturday until January 22.
