The new 26-30 railcard will soon be available but only to some Newham residents

Newham residents could be among the first in the country to get their hands on a 26-30 railcard but only if they live in certain parts of the borough.
On December 6, 10,000 railcards will be released into circulation as part of a pilot scheme before it is rolled out nationally next spring.
And in Newham, residents living in certain postcodes will be able to snap one up, provided they live within the Greater Anglia network.
The digital railcard will give customers a third off off-peak fares, and there will be a daily cap on off-peak Oyster card usage.
It will be available to purchase on December 6 but if you’re eligible, you’ll have to be quick - once they’re gone, they’re gone.
If you’re eligible, it can be purchased from www.26-30railcard.co.uk and can be downloaded immediately.
Residents will be able to start travelling straight away, with no need to wait for the post.
Andy Camp, Greater Anglia commercial director, said: “We’re very happy to be taking part in this pilot. We’re always looking for ways to make life a little easier for our customers.
“We know that many of our customers like the convenience of using their mobile phones as tickets, so this is a logical step forward for them - having a digital rail card and we’re thrilled to leading the way with this innovation.”
Jacqueline Starr, managing director of customer experience at the Rail Delivery Group added: “The railway, working together in partnership, will be building on the millions of railcard discounts currently offered.
“Our plan to change and improve rail journeys, for now and the long term, will see the railway playing an even greater role in supporting people to make journeys that help forge relationships.
“It will enable more people to benefit from the opportunities that travelling by train opens up.”
