Ten arrests were made in Newham for a range of offences after nine east London boroughs were involved in a policing initiative.
As part of Operation Lockdown officers targeted offenders using the road network and arrests for disqualified driving, handling stolen goods, robbery, possession of an offensive weapon and drug offences were carried out.
A total of 33 cars were seized, 14 Fixed Penalty Notices issued and 41 people were arrested on Thursday, September 18, after plain-clothed and uniformed officers were deployed.
They used a range of tactics from proactive patrols to static automatic number plate recognition points in areas suffering local crime issues.
