A teenager is fighting for her life after being hit by a car in Stratford last night.

The girl, believed to be 17, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

She suffered serious head injuries in the incident, which took place at the junction of the Broadway and West Ham Lane at around 9pm.

The driver of the car was not arrested.

The scene was closed off for several hours and bus routes were diverted around it.
