Older residents donned red and white to turn a patriotic pirouette at the town hall for St George’s Day yesterday.
A traditional tea dance was held at Stratford Town Hall on Broadway in honour of the patron saint of England who, according to legend, slayed a dragon with his mighty sword.
Newham Council are hosting a series of tea dances and the next one will take place on Sunday May 19 at the same venue.
Entry is £3 per person including a free raffle and light refreshments.
