A four day event that offered fans to see their favourite Strictly Come Dancing stars has been cancelled due to a lack of demand.

Strictly Come Dancing: The Spectacular was expected to take place at the ExCeL between Thursday, June 22 and Sunday, June 25 at the ExCeL.

But the organisers have been forced to cancel the event, with everyone who had previously bought a £70 adult ticket or £35 child ticket set for a refund.

In a statement on the website, organisers said: “It is with regret that Strictly Come Dancing : The Spectacular has been cancelled. Demand for this event has not been as strong as we had hoped so we’ve taken the difficult decision to cancel it.

“All customers will receive a full refund for the cost of their tickets. See Tickets will begin processing refunds for all online and phone orders immediately.

“We are sorry for any disappointment caused as a result of this decision.”

The event had been set to feature judges Bruno Tonioli, Craig Revel Horwood and Darcey Bussell as well as a number of the show’s professional dancers and former contestants.
