Stressed London workers were offered some respite from the daily grind with the Pet a Puppy stress buster clinic.

The clinic, organised by the Kennel Club, aimed to discover the positive mental and physical effects that contact with dogs can have on those in high-stress jobs.

Data was taken from participants by psychologists before and after meeting the dogs to measure the effects on their stress levels.

The event, held in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park yesterday, invited Londoners from a range of professions, including insurance brokers, police officers and midwives.

Also involved was former Olympic sprinter Iwan Thomas, fresh from his appearance on Bear Grylls’ The Island.

The pop-up will now move to London’s biggest dog event, Eukanuba Discover Dogs, at the ExCeL next weekend.
