Big-hearted supermarket staff raised the cash to pay for 10th birthday celebrations at a children’s hospice.
Staff at Sainsbury’s in the Stratford Centre on Broadway heard that Haven House Children’s Hospice needed money to organise a special event so they applied to head office.
They were awarded £500 from the Sainsbury’s Charities Aid Foundation fund and store manager Mark Twell handed over the cheque to the charity’s manager Erica Snow.
Haven House, based in Woodford Green, looks after children with life-limiting conditions.
