Students from Sarah Bonnell School will be holding a concert on March 13 to raise awareness about mental illness and the stigma which still surrounds it.
The concert will be held at the school’s premises in Deanery Road, Stratford from 1pm until 1.30pm.
It will include some of the school’s most talented students singing, doing a drama piece and performing a spoken word piece.
Tickets are available to students and staff. All proceeds will go to charities that help people through mental illnesses.
The concert is part of a campaign called ‘Smash the Stigma’ and is about trying to stop mental illness from being a taboo subject.
Students have put up posters, made T-shirts and explaining certain topics inside mental illness, such as eating disorders.
After the concert the students will be doing an assembly for year 10 students with help from a charity worker from ‘Mind.
