If you’ve ever been stuck in a queue at Stratford, you’re not alone - it’s been named the seventh busiest train station in the whole country.
There were more than 42.2 million entries and exits recorded in 2016-17, an increase on the previous year, when 41.1m people passed through the station.
But despite the increase, it was overtaken in the national rankings by Birmingham New Street, which edged Stratford out with 42.3m journeys.
Both stations, however, have a long way to go to overtake Britain’s busiest station, which was used more than 99.4m times last year.
Of Newham’s other stations, West Ham was the second busiest, with 10.6m entries and exits - an increase from 8.7m the previous year.
Manor Park, Forest Gate and Maryland all saw a slight reduction in the number of passengers using the station year on year.
