Three firefighters, based at Stratford fire station, will be awarded after saving the life of a beloved pet dog.
Dave Ludlow, Mark Wood and Jim Camp are to receive certificates of commendation from the RSPCA next month after bringing back Bully from the brink after a fire in Ilford last year.
After tackling the blaze in Ingleby Road, the trio, along with Storme Alexander from East Ham station, emerged with a barely conscious Bully.
But their persistent attempts to resuscitate him were successful, to the delight of a family who had given up all hope.
The ceremony will take place on February 7 at Stratford fire station in Romford Road.
