A Stratford dentist has been chosen to front an interantional campaign for a new dental treatment that straightens teeth using invisible braces.

Dr Suki Kanagasabal-Shakthi, from the Bluebell Dental Practice & Clinic, is the only London dentist featuring in the campaign film . It explains how unsightly metal braces can be a thing of the past thanks to a transparent, undetectable treatment called Invisalign, available for adults as well as younger age-groups.

This includes an appearance in a DVD to be distributed throughout the UK, Europe and beyond and shown in hundreds of waiting rooms. It will explain how Suki’s work has brought a smile to the faces of scores of patients concerned about the look of their teeth.

She said: “It’s a great honour to be chosen to represent the profession in this way.

“Its a treatment I believe in, because it can help all age ranges, even those who missed out on correction treatment when they were younger, and especially those who wanted to straighten their teeth but couldn?t tolerate metal braces in their mouths.

“One of the key differences between this treatment and traditional braces is that, in most cases, no extractions are necessary.”

Last year, Dr Shakthi was one of a handful of dentists to be invited to a special Invisalign summit in Barcelona where top practitioners were able to keep abreast of latest treatment developments and share best practice.
