The Stratford Centre has reopened after a suspicious package was found earlier today.

The shopping centre was evacuated this afternoon, and a spokeswoman from the Met Police confirmed a “suspect package” had been found.

Pictures uploaded to social media show crowds of people gathered outside the centre.

The packaged was removed by officers and the shopping centre reopened at around 3pm.

The centre was closed for approximately an hour and a half.

A spokeswoman from the centre said: “The police have safely removed a suspicious package which was found in the centre earlier today. The centre is now re-open.”
