Disabled youngsters will be given the chance to watch Paralympic events as part of a charity scheme.
Seventy-five people with muscular dystrophy will watch several different sports at the Games in trips organised by the Muscle Help Foundation.
The boys, girls and their families will be hosted by Paralympic broadcaster Channel 4 and will appear on the channel’s breakfast show.
Wheelchair makers Etac will also send along a product specialist.
Michael McGrath, chief executive of the Muscle Help Foundation, also has the condition.
He is the first and only disabled person to have led expeditions to both the North and South Poles.
He said: “My aim is for our charity’s engagement with the Paralympics to be utterly inspirational and truly enriching for our Muscle Dream beneficiaries.
“I’s especially keen to focus on making sure that each one of our recipients get the opportunity to witness the power of sport.”
