EAST HAM MP Stephen Timms joined supporters to back Christian Aid’s lobby of Parliament.
The event was designed at moving the issues of climate change and global tax transparency up the political agenda.
Supporters from Manor Park Methodist Church were at the Methodist Central Hall in Westminster as part of a 2,000-strong crowd to hear US civil rights campaigner The Rev Jesse Jackson and the Secretary of State for International Development Andrew Mitchell speak in support of the charity’s campaign.
They also joined Christian Aid supporters representing more than 420 constituencies across the UK at the House of Commons to lobby Mr Timms.
