The Jack Petchey Achievement Award winners, who attend a number of different schools, met East Ham MP Stephen Timms on Thursday, November 10.

Questions ranged from why Mr Timms became an MP to asking about the effects Brexit might have on freedom to travel.

Jane Evans from the Jack Petchey Foundation said “I was so proud to be taking these young people on this trip as a further well done for all they had achieved.

“It was so lovely to be told about the real difference being nominated by their peers and going on to win a Jack Petchey Achievement Award had made to these young people.

“Meeting Stephen Timms MP made the trip even better.”
