Campaigners hope West Ham fans can make the move to cycling when attending football games at the London Stadium.
More than 50 enthusiasts from the Bike from Boleyn campaign made the three-mile journey from Upton Park’s Bobby Moore statue
to the match against Swansea in Stratford on Saturday to celebrate more than 100 years of history.
East Ham MP Stephen Timms, Boleyn Ward Cllr Veronica Oakeshott and a unicyclist were among those to get on their bikes to promote cycling and the existing links between the area and West Ham Utd.
Cllr Oakeshott said: “We are building a new tradition. The club has moved but it is still accessible.
“Whereas once the residents of Boleyn were able to just walk out of their front doors and cross the road to see their favourite team, now we’re showing that the best way to get there is by bike.”
The event was supported by property developer Barratt London.
