More than 60,000 people flocked to Central Park for four days of a musical extravaganza.
Classical, Bhangra and soul were among the genres performed at this year’s Under the Stars event, which culminated in a fireworks display set to Elgar’s Pomp and Circumstance.
Sunday night’s finale also saw tenor John Pierce and soprano Laura Wright – the official anthem singer for England’s rugby team – join the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra for a set filed with classic songs.
Thursday’s opening night sawreggae artist Maxi Priest headline, while Friday saw Bhangra star Sukshinder Shinda top a bill filled with Asian music.
Saturday saw Seventies legends Hot Chocolate roll back the years with a performance of their greatest hits.
Sir Robin Wales, Mayor of Newham said: “I always look forward to Under the Stars and I am very proud that we are able to bring such world class entertainment to residents free of charge.
“Each year the event gets bigger and better, with people coming to Central Park, to celebrate, have fun and most importantly build the strong sense of community we are proud of in Newham.”
