The London Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Games will return to the park on Sunday, March 20, giving members of the public the chance the follow in the footsteps of Olympic heroes at the Aquatics Centre and Lee Valley VeloPark.

Money raised from the Sport Relief Mile, Swimathon and Cycle will help disadvantaged people across the UK and in some of the world’s poorest communities.

Made in Chelsea star Jamie Laing is urging people across the capital to sign up.

“Come on London – you really don’t need to be sporty to get involved with Sport Relief,” he said.

“London will be hosting one of six amazing Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Games, and this year you can walk, run, swim or cycle to raise cash that will change people’s lives right here in the UK and across the world.

As well as the three sporting events, there will also be live music and entertainment throughout the day.

In March 2014, thousands of people turned out for the charity’s first weekend at the park, alongside the like of Victoria Pendleton, Katie Price and Dermot Murnaghan.

David Goldstone, chief executive of the London Legacy Development Corporation said: “We are delighted to have Sport Relief back on the park for another year.

“I would encourage everyone to get involved, it is easy to do and a great way to help change people’s lives.

“I’m looking forward to getting my running shoes on and joining the thousands of runners in the Sport Relief Mile.”
