Spider-man swung into Stratford to meet children from Newham ahead of the release of his new film.
Children were able to shake hands with the friendly web-slinger before posing for a photo on his visit to the Vue cinema.
The visit comes in the run up to the release of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and was arranged by Sony Pictures, Vue Cinemas and leading global 3D licensor RealD 3D.
A specially designed green screen gave shoppers the chance to have a picture taken and take home the image as a free memento of the day.
People who chose to share the image on social media were entered for a chance to win tickets to the World Premiere of the film in London.
Joanne Webb, sales and marketing director at Vue Entertainment, said: “We’re delighted to have Spider-man right here in our foyer, and am sure audiences will enjoy getting up close and personal with one of the big screen’s most popular heroes.”
The Amazing Spider-Man 2, starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, and Jamie Foxx as new villain Electro, lands in Vue cinemas in stunning RealD 3D on April 18.
