Shoppers got a little more than they bargained for when they met a group of occupational therapists at Stratford Shopping Centrte recently.
The specialists from East London NHS Foundation Trust were at the centre during Occupational Therapy Week (November 2-9)
They lovingly decorated a stall in the centre of the mall to help raise awareness about Occupational Therapy (OT) and how Occupational Therapists work in a variety of settings.
They distributed leaflets to interested visitors, detailing the type of support on offer, for example for people with dementia, children with disabilities and those suffering from work stress, to name a few.
On display were also numerous examples of adaptive equipment for members of the public – a perching stool, long handled washing and dressing aids and a magnifying glass.
