A top construction site manager has been named as one of the best in the country for his work in Silvertown

Mick Slaughter, who works for Barratt London, in Stratford, was picked as first-round winner in the annual NHBC Pride in the Job Awards, recognising the personal achievements of site managers creating new UK homes.

One of 450 chosen from 15,000 entrants, the accolade recognised his part in Silvertown’s Waterside Park development.

Mehban Chowdery, regional director for NHBC, one of the UK’s leading standards setter and warranty provider for new homes, said: “Congratulations to Mick Slaughter of Barratt London Stratford, who has been commended for building homes that are of an exceptional standard.

“A Pride in the Job award is the highest industry accolade a site manager can receive.

“It represents success for the site manager, his team and associated trades as well providing a reputational boost for the building company.

“Most importantly, homeowners who buy a Pride in the Job award-winning home benefit from a high quality product.”

After excelling in a comprehensive year-long judging process, Mr Slaughter and the other first-round winners are shortlisted for regional titles, to be revealed in the autumn.
