There were severe delays on the entire Central Line this morning due to a power supply fault.

TfL tweeted that “customers are strongly advised to avoid the line wherever possible.”

The delays are now described as ‘minor’ but are expected to last throughout the day.

A London24 journalist caught up in the delays during rush hour eloquently described the situation as “totally grim”.

It is understood that issues began at 6.15am.

The line serves several of London’s busiest stations including Stratford, Liverpool Street, Bank, Tottenham Court Road and Oxford Circus.

Tickets are accepted on local London Buses, TfL Rail, London Overground, Abellio Greater Anglia, Great Western Railway & Chiltern Railways.
